Our Emma

These pictures were taken a week before Lily was born at the Bzn Farmer's Market. It is a fun zoo of animals (usually llamas), craft-wares, local produce and Bozemanites. Emma's favorite thing about the weekly event are the snow cones. At this particular time she was enjoying the blueberry blast version.

Won't be back there for a while. Just too many people (and too many germs) for Lily. But, I do like the picture of Emma.

At home with Lily

The perfect flowers from my friend Sarah!

Meanwhile....

As I said earlier, Emma seems to be doing just fine.

We benefited from great timing, if not from the birth, Sid had to come off from an overnight shift for the event with no sleep for the 24 hours previous, but for his vacation time. He has had the last 10 days off. So he and Emma have had a lot of bonding time while we get adjusted to life with new baby at home.

Plus we have two great Emma sitters that have made our life wonderful. Emma spends a couple of afternoons a week with them and 2 of her friends.

Tanya and Emma made this wonderful welcome home sign while Lily and I were still in the hospital:

Here are some pictures of Emma with her fast friends. The attention for Emma and for me is a great gift from the moms. Especially since all the play-dates came with dinners!

Why Aunties Rock!

The big concern with Baby #2 is: "How will Baby #1 react?" We've received lots of good suggestions on how to handle this issue (i.e. Baby Envy). Emma's best friend Phoebe is the big sister of 4 months now. Her parents bought her, her own personal baby as a starter. When my sisters asked, "What do we need?" I therefore asked them to get something fun and special for Emma instead.

This is what we got. Sid's response was "Holy Sheet!" when they unpacked the box. Emma was thrilled and besides being a bit weepy over certain issues (i.e. what kind of fork she is going to use for dinner) she is doing really well.
